Small Reminder–6 x 6” Cone Flower Acrylic Painting by Krista Hasson

Every year I put art into a local art show / fundraiser at RNS. This year they decided to do a table with small artwork for $100. I though I would try something different as it would be too costly to do the rice paper and watercolor by the time you frame and pay them their consignment. This is very loose and it was fun to do. I collaged the background to get texture and them at the very end I added thicker paint to help my flowers come forward.

This is my new printing press. It was a Christmas gift from my husband. He bought me the cabinet underneath last week, it was a perfect fit. I was so busy getting ready for a show I did not have time to use it until now. I love it!! The prints above are the first two block prints I have done with my new press. I am still working the kinks out lol. Once I get these refined to the point I am happy with them I will do a run on good paper. I am also working on 2 small 6x6” mixed medium paintings, I will post when finished. Thanks for stopping in have an awesome day!

I love the color of the new leaves and the smell of spring.  I can’t wait!!
This is one of the paintings you saw in my earlier post when they were hanging to dry. It is 20 x 16”. I love the simplicity of this one.

My Bleeding Heart on Rice Paper - Watercolor Painting by Krista Hasson

Bleeding Hearts are one of my favorite spring flowers, they are so vibrant and delicate. The color is a lot brighter and bolder in real life. Not sure why some colors just don’t reproduce well on blogger. If anyone out there knows a way to over come this I would love some suggestions. Have a great day everyone!
